Synopsis:

Earl Jenkins has lost everything: his job, his life, his baby and his wife. Why? An explosion at Smallville’s LutherCorp Fertilizer Plant has embedded pieces of the town’s mysterious meteor rocks into his skin causing the “Jitters.” What’s the “Jitters?” The earth shattering seizures that can shake a man to death or cause objects to collapse and shatter. What was LutherCorp doing with the meteor rocks? The rocks were used in fertilizer experiments in the plant’s secret Level 3. How secret was Level 3? So secret that Lionel Luthor kept its existence from his own son in charge of the plant, Lex. At times this episode seems to deal (quietly) with issues from earlier episodes, (like when Clark tells his parents about how he feels sick when he’s around the meteor rocks and Whitney being the obvious hero while Clark has to settle for the silent hero) which is because this episode was filmed earlier in the season but aired later. This episode did however seem to show a spark of jealousy hinting to Lex’s future hatred of Clark. As usual the “Superman” jokes continue. Earl was a farmhand at the Kent Farm before working for LutherCorp. Earl tried to teach Clark to play guitar but he kept breaking the strings. We also meet Chloe’s dad, Gabe, in this episode. He is the crappy joke telling plant manager.
