Episode Synopsis
Londo falls in love with a dancer; he does not know that she is a slave. Her owner is using her to steal Londo's "Purple Files;" files about rival families that Londo's family has gathered over time. The Narn would pay a good deal of money for such information. Adira, the dancer, develops true feelings for Londo and tries to run away with the data. Londo and Sinclair eventually rescue Adira from her vengeful owner.

Garibaldi discovers someone illegally using Gold Channels to contact Earth. Gold Channels are for emergency use for Ambassadors and Command Staff only. Garibaldi discovers that it is Ivanova using the Gold Channels to speak to her dying father on Earth. Garibaldi decides not to make an issue of it, provided Ivanova does not abuse the privilege anymore.

Story Arc
Sinclair manages to secure Adira's freedom; she leaves to rebuild her life, promising Londo to return someday.

Babylon 5 is the site for negotiations of the Euphrates Treaty between Narn and Centauri Prime.

Background Information

  • Slavery is legal on Centauri Prime
  • Ivanov's older brother was killed in the Earth-Minbari War; she has long been estranged from her father.
